At the request of the All Breeds Club Committee, the AKC has developed a
tool to allow clubs to "opt-in" to having information about their club
shared with new registrants. The primary goals of this program are to
give
clubs a communication channel to potential new members as well as
alerting a
new puppy owner to club and training resources in their area. Your
club's
name, location, contact information including email and/or website and/
or
telephone number will be provided to each registrant three weeks after
registration has been completed. The information you provide, including
dates and location of club meetings will also be made available on the
AKC
website on the Club information portal.
However, during the initial phase of this program we will not send out
emails until we have enough clubs opting-in to this program. We will
send
you another email when enough clubs have signed up for this program
and we
are ready to send out the first email.
We hope you will find this program useful in the recruitment of new club
members and new members of the dog fancy.
As of July 21, 2009, of the 1008 clubs eligible to participate, 47 clubs
have opted-in to the AKC® Club Outreach program.
