THANKS Joyce. I think this issue NEEDS to be re-opened. I don't recall
everything being ideal with
Purina either! <G>
Certainly being closer to the other 2/3 of the Country makes either site pretty
ideal, along with the actual
ROTATION of the location of our National fulfilling the vote of the members AND
the requirements in the
Policy and Procedure Manual regarding our National!
I believe the dates for the National in Colorado would have to be worked out to
be a tad earlier....but seems
'doable' anyway. And as I understand it....the people at the Utah site have
already expressed interest in when
we were going to come back....so they should be easy to work with.......?
Both sites have airports that are relatively easy to fly into compared to St.
Louis. Possibly if it were in
Arizona they could save enough to make up for many expenses to have the
National actually outdoors on
grass. While many complain about the thought of it being outdoors....many on
the actual Board fly to Europe
to watch the Sieger show being held outdoors. I just don't get it...........
The Board continues to fly to different locations around the Country for their
meetings.....and yet they could
likely SAVE enough to make up the expenses if they would just decide on two or
three permanent locations
and quit flying all over to give the appearance of looking for other sites.

I am wondering if we can at least check into the Colorado site to see if it is
available next year or the year after.
even if it is slightly over what we pay at Purina, I think we owe it to our
west coast and other members who want it rotated. Indefinite at Purina is not
what everyone signed up for. Not to reopen this but I think we need to look at
Colorado or Utah both sites we have used before and is closer to the west coast
members. Yes I know it is not ideal but closer.

Hi Evan
The Nationals will be held in St. Louis unless the motion is overturned by the
new BOD.
Direct from The July BOD Minutes
"Larry Rock pointed out that we need to minimize any negative yearly operating
results by not holding our National shows at sites that result in increased
costs. Larry moved that the GSDCA holds its National Shows at the Purina Show
site in Gray Summit, MO from 2018 onward until such time as the members’ net
asset position is at or above the 2009 level of $583,000. Frank seconded. Zoe
stated that it should go to the membership for a vote. For the motion: Morton
Goldfarb, Pam O’Dell, Joy Schultz, Frank Fasano, Dania Karloff, Jim Moses and
Larry Rock. Against the motion: Linda Bankhead, Gloria Birch and Helen Gleason.
Abstaining: Zoe Backman. Motion passed."

I am freezing in Freemont, waiting for the shows. Went to dinner last night
with Nancy and Ken. I mentioned a vote to keep the National in St. Louis, and
they said no such thing happened. I guess I need to know if that did or did
not happen.
We have Kaboom back, I am sure she is preggers.

I usually enjoy Friday the 13th! But this morning not so much! One of my
groomers lives about 50 miles from me ( Brenda Shepard) and I had an
appointment with her at 9:00AM. Well halfway there one of the major roads I
take to get there was closed due to flooding! Don't know Brenda's number so
needless to say I was 25 minutes late! So now I sit in the car and wait! I'm
too old for this! Happy Friday the 13th.... I like it better when Friday the
13th falls on a Saturday.... think about that! I got 90 minutes in the car so
I'm pretty sure you will hear from me again soon! It could be a good time to
fight with Zoe! FB <http://www.asgardgsd.com/>
