Under Florida Statutes dogs and cats adopted through an agency such as Humane
Society, Animal Control, Rescue, etc, MUST be spayed and neutered per law. This
law was made to provide that the situation that probably brought the animal
into the agency to begin with, to be homed/re-homed, not be repeated nor
perpetuated by breeding of those animals. I am sure the State law would apply
to this particular situation and the organization could well be in jeopardy by
not following the letter of the law in this respect.
