Many will remember years ago that people bitched so much about the national in
Daytona many did not come.
Harley Davidson week was the next week, and all the hot Harley models were in
our hotel and at the pool.
I rented a Harley for the week, and didn't drive it much. But, Georgie got to
take it out with Kent. Kent's bike broke down, so he had to have it fixed to
ride back home.
Great memories.

Many will remember years ago that people bitched so much about the national in
Daytona many did not come. other than what Carolyn mentioned with the housing
issue of dogs, the site proved to be outstanding, hotels great and near by.
Food incredible.
Many did not come to the Beaumont national for various reasons....much of it
hoopla because hurricane Ike had gone through and done WIND damage. Heard of
mold issues (water folks, not wind) diseases and so on.l
Many who came were well pleased with what they found....flower boy included.
He
personally came to me and said he was once firm on one location.....this site
changed him to the rotation merits.
That said, if you are going, you are fortunate. Enjoy the feast of good dogs
in
your eye (no not all will get there from many regions of the country) ....and
enjoy the good friends you have in this breed. I will miss it this year and it
makes me sad....I have a vested interest in many dogs performing there and sad
I
cannot rejoice in their accomplishments. That said, many of those people were
at the Canadian national and I was VERY happy to see them all..........AND the
dogs!

Is it that time of the year again? I KNOW that we are all upset that we
don�t
have the rotating national. It�s a done deal for 3 years.
As we Legislative Liaisons say, write your�. (board member), don�t like
what
they do, vote them out.
We have all been in positions when something went kaplooey and the results were
not to our liking. I know that most of us simply found a work around.
Can�t take the extra 6 days to drive? There are airports within 3-4 hours?
We
drive 3 or 4 hours all the time to go to shows� at least in California. I
just
drove 2 hours to steward an obedience trial!
The National has been in October or November ever since I�ve been involved.
And
people with children did a work-around with the schools and teachers, is the
kids were doing good in school. It has been too cold, too hot, snowing,
windstorms.
I know that we can do better than spending 2 weeks just bitching and moaning.
That only increases the stress level and gets on people�s nerves.
I need one of those great meme to put right here. <G>
I love you all, I love this list (when it�s effective and helpful) but quit
bitching and moaning!
