I guess 4 days is enough...
Let's see...how many members on "Da List"??? 2000 +?
Final tally to the question...How many Judges on "Da List" have been to at
least 5 Herding Trials? Then I posed the same question to "Da Lister"
exhibitors.
Final tally...Judges...14...Exhibitors...35 = 49
I guess all I can say to those of you who have not been...go. Judges old and
new will see the GSD move off lead and in balance according to its structure.
If the structure is incorrect the dog will labor and will have greater
difficulty herding the sheep. If the dog's structure is correct...you will see
true ease of motion and virtually the exact requests of the Standard when it
comes to motion. I think to the term "Poetry in motion" and it tis. No leash,
no handler holding em up, and no break neck speed is required.
As a matter of fact I must pass this on. Jennifer did her 3rd provisional show
Thursday in Utah. Before judging commenced she met the AKC Rep who would be
critiquing her performance. When he mentioned double handling...she simply
said..."I'm involved in Herding...if I could...I would remove handlers and
owners alike to see them move as they do when they herd sheep. But since I
can't do that...I will see them going as loose and naturally as possible." He
smiled...said no more...and at the end of the interview gave her all 3's and
recommended her for "Regular Judging Status". I am a very proud hubby of a very
fine new Judge.
