I'v heard some complaints that obedience training interfers with show training. It seems to me that it would go a long way to helping the conformation dog. my obedience dog will hold a stack with me twenty feet away. Of course, I taught him stay and focus when he was younger. I watched my junior handler try to keep my 90lb show boy in the ring. I realised that if I spent as much time teaching him focus as the other guy, he would be much easier for her to handle and bait. needless to say our training is taking a new direction.
