My post proposing a List of studs that never produced certain faults of course
was me being
facetious........at times I can't help myself. <G>
The hint at my tongue in cheek post was the statements below:
....."this will be for stud dog owners only...........as bitches don't produce
faults"........
and
"We have a young stud that has never produced any of the above.....but we will
breed him soon" <G>
The point is that if you can't deal with faults......don't breed. <G>
We ALL try to avoid faults and some concern us a lot more than others.
IMO you can think your dog is free of a certain fault......and it may even BE
FREE of that particular
fault, but......the very next time you breed it you could be breeding INTO the
fault you are at the
moment free of. <G> It takes a few breedings to know......and even
then......about the time
you get confident it is not a problem.........you get hit with that horrific
litter...........

First of all, there is NO such thing as any of our Studs being Fault Free.
From the Mouth of Wisdom- Joan Ford- IF any dog is bred enough, you will find
faults.
If we limit the Gene pool anymore than it already is, we may as well throw in
the towel.
Yes, there are missing teeth out there, there are ALOT worse problems than
that.... but, you must always
weigh the good with the bad. Prioritize your problems before you do ANY
breeding. Know your own
lines and work on that. Always look at your dogs brothers & sisters, as well
as the studs-if possible.
IF you think you are going to find a Stud dog that will give you No Bloat, No
Megaesophagus,
No missing teeth, NO Off-Temperaments, No heart trouble, ---- oh my, the list
can go on & on & on.....
Well, wake up people!!! You will be trading one fault for another. If I'm
trading missing teeth for most
of the other horrible Crap that is out there...I'll smile. AND GUESS WHAT
