I think we all used Facebook and other social media for our own reasons. (Hey,
this list is social media!!! <G>)
I find Facebook, Twitter and Google+ mostly for keeping up with legislation
across the country (and the world, sometimes). My personal Facebook page is
kept mostly to non-legislative, family, friends (not hundreds :-), Maxine <G>,
and a bit more. LinkedIn Groups are more like a Forum as far as I can see, but
Ive not comfortable with that platform yet, so maybe later I will like it
better.
Twitter is invaluable once i learned that its a different world, and a
different language. Google+ may be the next social media plus! using the
video hang-outs is great for family and can be used for educational
conferencing when set up correctly. The main problem for Google+ is that its
still not a familiar technology for many and like Facebook, people need to dive
in and just use it before they can enjoy it or derive the benefits. I love
seeing my family in real time
