I just wonder how much of the General Public AKC thinks is going to read a "Press Release" in their own newsletter!!?? Aren't they just preaching to the choir?? It's about time they understood the severity of these issues and spent some of their money to take this to a VERY PUBLIC FORUM!! They missed golden opportunities with Westminster and Eukanuba.....or any of the morning "talk shows" that gave daily updates on these shows....and Animal Planet. I don't personally watch these shows, but I sure hear about them through that type of media....even the late night shows talk about these events. Don't they have anyone handling Public Relations? Does he/ or she need HELP!! AKC needs to get a lot more active in taking this information to the public that has NO CLUE!! Their own Newsletter is hardly going to reach the desk of the average family..........GEEEEZ! I can't believe how much time we are wasting with always giving out information to those of us that ALREADY KNOW!!! I'll bet over 50% of the people that were at Westminster or the Eukanuba shows have NO IDEA what is going on with the struggle for breeders and Breeds to continue. How difficult would it have been to take advantage of that great forum. It's time some of these powerful Organizations and Companies that make a big part of their income on pets and pure bred dogs started stepping up to the plate to help.
