GSD, now has the problem she describes in her post, and would welcome input.

Hi there,
 
I just recently rescued a Shepard.  I'm am in total love with him and he has
a problem.  Nobody here seems to be able to help me.  O'Malley is 5 years
old.  He is in great shape except one thing, he always bites his butt.  I
have taken him to the vet now 4 times (at $150+ each time) and it's not the
money I mind, it's the vet not knowing what the heck is wrong with this poor
baby.  I am running out of options so today I am devoting my time to trying
to find out what this may be. I have switched him from kibble to the raw
food diet as somebody told me this may help if it's an allergy.  However, I
don't know what it could be.  The doctors have treated it as allergies, anal
glands, etc. But the poor dear never stops biting his butt.  Nothing is
hanging out it just looks like it itches.  Do you have any advice?  I'm
trying to ask the experts today and will keep calling around but I thought
rescue would be a good place.  Any advice?
