The very good news is that the American Dog Breeders Association/Hank
Greenwood $1000 Challenge was completed overnight: We got in $1000
more in pledges in order to qualify for Mr. Greenwood's matching
pledge. I'll post a list of those who helped us get there AND said we
could use their names, later in the day.

THANKS TO THOSE WHO SENT MATCHING PLEDGES, and SPECIAL THANKS TO HANK
GREENWOOD AND THE AMERICAN DOG BREEDERS ASSOCIATION FOR THE CHALLENGE!

It's also good news that with the completion of the challenge we have
passed the $32,000 mark, on the way to the total of $35,000 needed to
pay the attorney fee for the appeal of Jean's conviction.

The OTHER news, however, is that most contributions now are small.
While small is still beautiful -- and believe me, the stories that
come with some of those contributions make it clear that many people
out there are really hurting in order to help Jean -- small also means
that we need A LOT of pledges.

That says we need to do two things:

1. To continue reaching out to other groups (Yahoo Groups, Facebook
friends, and the like) and new individuals. The info at:

in the second post -- the story of Jean's trial -- is still a good way
to get people up to speed.  The first post -- my first appeal -- has
the correct basic info, but will be updated later in the day to show
that we did get past the $20,000 milepost by Monday and we're now
working to finish the pledges this week.

Are there ANY dog related email lists that haven't heard of this case
yet? How 'bout the professional/commercial dog breeding world? They
are at ground zero in the AR campaign to wipe out breeding, and as
Jean's case shows, it is IMPOSSIBLE to breed well enough to be safe.

AND,

2. To keep working on clubs and other organizations that could give
larger amounts. Five club donations of $500 probably would take us
over the finish line. Of course if there are individuals out there who
can make larger pledges we're certainly not going to turn those down!

As before, we need emails pledging an amount that you are confident
you could donate by about December 24th. Get 'Jean Cyhanick pledge' in
the subject line please, and send to me at waltah @ earthlink.com
(take out spaces). NO MONEY NOW -- We'll get back to you with
directions for donating as soon as we have enough pledges to be
certain we can pull this off, hopefully not later than Friday PM.

If you think you can do more later or might be able to beat your
pledge amount by next week, please say so: Part of our $32,000 total
is a loan that we'll need to pay back as soon as possible.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HARD WORK MAKING THIS HAPPEN! Whether
you pledged or 'just' passed the word to others, you are making it
possible for us to take a big new step against the animal rights
movement!
