Hi All;
I have been so busy with my AB back to back shows this weekend that I am just
reading my mail. I was shocked to say the least when I
am the email from the Board in regards to Margy.
As an elected Officer of my AB Club, I have been appalled by the actions of our
current Board regarding their closed sessions. We the members who voted and put
them in office have every right as the membership body of this Club to know
what is happening with OUR
Club.
My AB Board meetings are opened to all members who wish to attend. When we make
a decision that will effect the Club, we explain
why the Board voted the way they did and why and how it will effect the Club at
our General Meetings.
Our Club is made up of all members, not just the Board. We have a Standing
Rules about attendance at Board Meetings, if a Board
Member missed 3 meetings in the year with out good reason, the Board can chose
to replace their term on the Board. This has never
happened. We understand that all of us have family obligations, work
obligations and pets that decide to get sick or whelp on a meeting night etc.
We are not paid to serve on the Board, we serve at the request of our members
and because we want to give back to the sport that we love and to our dogs.
The Board members are voted to their positions by the membership and the owe
the members answers for their actions. This to me is especially true after the
mess created with Mr. Hunte.
I also am asking that all members voice their opinion that we need sponsors
again for membership and that there needs to be a Code
of Ethics for members attached to the application. Application and Code of
Ethics can be available to download from the web site and I
am positive if some one wishes to join that they can find two current members
to sponsor them.
I personally have had enough of the closed sessions. What is the Board hiding
from us? We are the Club, we voted for them and they
must let us know why they do things that effect us and that can jeopardize the
future of our Club.
I also serve as AKC Delegate and I forward all important information from the
AKC to my members via email so that they have a better understanding of what is
going on at the AKC and in the sport.
I have been a member of this Club going on 21 years and I have never been so
disappointed with the Board as I am with this one.
You were elected to serve your members, not your own agenda.
