Hi Everyone,
I am passing this along to the list as Carolyn needs some help with the GSD 
Meet the Breed Booth at the  Javis Center on October 20 and 21st. I have been 
at the GSD Booth for the past two years, but unforunately my neice is getting 
married that weekend and several others who helped last year had conflicts this 
year.

So, please if you can help, contact Carolyn who's information is in the email 
below. This is a great opportunity to showcase our wonderful breed and to 
educate the public about them with about 30,000 people attending last year over 
the 2 days.

This booth is always busy and last year we were 1st place in the Herding Group 
and the year before 4th.

Greetings,
     I was wondering if you could send something out the Clubs/members of both 
WDA and GSDCA about getting volunteer with and without dogs for the Meet the 
Breeds.
 
     Right now I am bringing two dogs (both sables) and my trainers are 
bringing two dogs, but we really need at least six since they really get tired 
of being petted and hugged by the public - 20 minutes at a time is what we did 
last year and it worked well.  I like to have two dogs out at all times.
 
     I also need people knowlegable about the various disiplines our dogs do.  
We are also going to do a Schutzhund obedience demonstration for the first 
time.  I have the dogs lined up for that, but that means I will need people and 
dogs to stay at the booth while we do the demo.
 
     To add to testing my organizational skills, I received a promotion and 
transfer to Quantico, Virginia so I will be moving or just have moved by Oct. 
19 (set up day).  So I will either be commuting from an empty house or driving 
up from my new house in Virginia.  So I will not really have a lot of time in 
Oct to do any last minute recruiting.  Since I am pretty much using all of the 
same pictures and booth frame set up as last year, we are set on that end.  I 
just really need people friendly dogs and knowlegable GSD people.  Last year we 
had six people and five dogs on Saturday (two without dogs) and five people and 
five dogs on Sunday (one without a dog).  Not having that extra person on 
Sunday really made a difference, we missed a lot of opporutnity to answer 
questions.  Plus, since we really want to promote all of the 2013 Philly 
events, I need people.
 
     I know it is just after the National.  But I am hoping you can help 
recruit for me.
