FUTURITY COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATIONS - 1999
The Futurity Committee consists of Tish Walker, Chairman
Members: Ken Downing, Evan Ginsburg, Ellie Goede, Debbie Hokkanen, Maryellen
Kish, Dorthy
Linn and Rita Sandell
Changes to the Futurity System Require two readings. These will be proposed at
the July Board
with possibly final vote in January 2001
Changes Would be instituted at the earliest in 2002
The Futurity Committee met at the April 1999 Board meeting, and came up with
the following
recommendations:
1. Decrease the number of regions to 6. This should increase the entries
in the Individual
Futurity shows.
(THE MAPES ARE ON THE WEBSITE)
2. A reserve winner to each of the Futurity and Maturity winners - and
Reserve BOSF.
BOSM - may be chosen to represent the region in the Futurity/'Maturity
Sweepstakes
competition at the National Specialty Show Bitches. The 2nd place dog/bitch to
the BIF, BOSF,
BIM, BOSM are eligible for this Competition. No special ribbon or plaque will
be given at the
regional level. At the
National Sweepstakes, dogs/bitches will be placed 1 through 4 and a rosette
will given for all 4
placings in each class.
3. Give a Futurity Litter of the Year Award. A plaque will be given to the
breeder at the Annu
al Banquet When the other awards are given out. See Proposed requirements Below
4. Offer a Progeny Class at each Futurity. This will be an exhibition
class to begin with. I
f successful it would be developed into a competition class.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Entry fee of $ 25
2. Sire and /or dam may only be exhibited in the region which he/she resides
3. At least 3 progeny must be shown
4. 4. There is no age limit on the progeny
5. Progeny do not have to be entered in the Futurity show
6. Rosette to be award
Criteria will have to be developed on how to judge this class if it becomes
competitive
