Great post Evan. I agree that those who breed know that problems will
always come up. All we can do is stand behind our puppies and hope to find
good homes for them.

It is a shame about Steve's bitch. We would refund his money, but she was
a replacement for a dog he had that died. We always would take Contezza
back, but Steve never asked us to.
It is a shame he had to use this to malign Icon who in my opinion is one of
the top dogs in the country right now. but, I understand his frustration
and pain.
His Contezza is one of 40 puppies from that breeding. I am sure he loves
her, and would not give her up, but we would offer to take her back at any
time, as we do with any of our dogs.
After 40 years of breeding German shepherds it is always upsetting to find
one has a health problem, but not unusual for any breeder. All you can do
is try to find the cause, stand behind your puppies and make sure you do
the
best you can.
I am certainly glad we were able to give Steven a dog he loves as he does
Contezza. It is unfortunate that she had a problem. Those of us who show
and breed know that problems will always come up. All we can do is stand
behind our puppies and hope to find good homes for them.
