There is a product called ANT-E-Dote which is actually beneficial nematods
(safe to sue around
children and dogs as these are worms)
It is sold by the size of the area that you wish to cover
You spread these worms out (kept reffrigerated until needed) over the ware.
Gently water and
within 3-4 months, the fireant population will decrease emmensely, if not
disappear with an
additional application.
