CO2, carbon dioxide is as common as... well, air. Plants take it in and give back oxygen. We humans and all animal species take in oxygen and 90% of what we exhale is CO2. I am not an expert so we should check with the airlines. Possibly there are other dangers, but it sound to me like riding in the passenger compartment might be dangerous if all those people are exhaling.
