Sunday we attended the Long Beach Kennel Club show in The City of
Industry.
As we all know, this is the largest most prestigious dog show the AKC puts
on each year. There were the normal thousands in attendance from all over
the world, and the usual entertaining events. At half time it was Janet
Jackson and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir doing a tribute to Little Richard,
who made a personal appearance to accept a plaque honoring his years of
music and contribution to rock and roll. In the audience I think I saw
Chuck Berry, (but since he has died, it might have been someone else). I
also thought I saw Fats Domino, but the same issue might have been a
problem. I know I saw the Coasters and the Drifters, or those old men may
have been someone else.
At the shepherd ring, with a quality filled entry, *Champion Asgard's
Teddy Roosevelt*, (Bully), under stiff competition was able to prevail
for *Best of Breed*. It was a grueling class, as it always is at this
show, but after long and hard consideration he got the nod. The cheering
after the win went on for a sustained tribute to the decision.
Congratulations to Paula who had Bully in such great condition that he was
able to win this prestigious win. Paula was mobbed by the throngs to
congratulate her and share in the glow of the amazing win.
It was a fun filled morning, and good to see all our old friends and make
some new ones.
