I used to have a bumper sticker that said "don't drink and drive, you
might hit a bump and spill your drink." It was on the front of my desk
at work and it made everybody laugh, which was the whole purpose of
putting it there. However, when my boss was in an accident caused by a
drunk driver and was nearly killed (he spent 6 months in the hospital
and came out permanently lame) I removed the bumper sticker. Somehow it
wasn't so funny anymore.
