See? Still confused...and I KNOW Stormy can read and comprehend.
The new class is NOT for Novices...it will be for AMATEUR owner
handlers...novice or 40 year veteran exhibitor will make no difference.
The point is that the handler must be the owner and an amateur.
The Novice class was never meant for Novice owners...the term Novice
referred to the dogs...and thinking that the owner was also required to be a
novice is what many thought...including some judges....which is why so many
judges seemed reluctant to put up dogs from that class........
The new class is, I think, being instituted because lots of judges don't
like the Novice class (see my comment above) and because so many people
don't want to compete against professional handlers...which, of course, they
will still have to do to get points.
It's all so silly......we've had BBE all along...there was nothing ever to
prevent a novice, or an amateur, or a professional handler (provided he/she
was the breeder of the dog) from walking into the BBE class with the dog.
Judges who didn't want to put up a dog from the Novice class will probably
still have a prejudice against the AOH class, too...so nobody will be happy
(again).
