I was told that the Futurities were the second biggest money maker for the
club after the National. We were supposed to have the accounting at the
last board meeting. It should be able to see if it is still making money for
the club or not.

can we possibly expect the Futurities to fare any better.....??
As we dwindle in numbers....even the Red Book will become a lot
smaller...so do we give up
on the Red Book...or our R.O.M. system, or put the Red Book out every
other year or cut back
on issues? Hopefully not.
I sure have no answers....but I do know the Futurities themselves are NOT
the problem. It's
the whole show society and venue that is beginning to fail as are all of
us in age and numbers
and willingness to throw money and time and work into it much longer.
Adding up the total of one show weekend or Futurity weekend...and you are
looking at the real
problem.

Futurity today 10 males shown and 9 bitches shown. Maturity today 10 males
shown and 9 bitches shown.
This resu_lts in 8 animals being eligible to attend our National. I have
seen most of the winners; very worthy. Does our current
system make sense?
