As per our Policy and Procedure manual, any candidate running for GSDCA
office may purchase an electronic copy of the membership file for $50 or a
set of labels for $100. If any of the candidates wish to do this, they must
send a check to the GSDCA Treasurer, Nadine Grady, or call her with their
credit card information. Once Nadine has collected the appropriate amount,
she will notify me and I will send them either the electronic file (in
Excel format) or mailing labels.
This remains a sensitive issue with me. When I ran for president, someone
worked with our treasurer to send a letter without paying for the labels. I
spent the money and sent out a letter to the membership. Their
justification was that since they could scan the membership list, they didn't
have to
pay. It is history, so I won't mention names, and I like very much the
person who did it.
I didn't make a stink about it, but the honesty of who we elect should be
important. I doubt any of those running this year would do that. Also,
Nadine would not allow it. Another person we might be losing.
