[ SHOWGSD-L ] Eight is enough...

For awhile now I've been hearing that the board is considering doing away =
with the term limits that are currently in effect for the GSDCA board of =
directors. I believe that the current limits are 8 years and then you =
must step down for at least a year before you can run again (I'm not =
positive that I have the correct limitations and I trust that someone will =
correct me if I'm wrong).
I personally like the idea of term limits as it gives more members a =
chance to serve on the board. The board members who run for re-election =
have a distinct advantage over newcomers who want to serve by virtue of =
the name recognition they gained by serving on the board. I think it is =
healthy to mix-up the leadership of the club and bring in new blood. Term =
limits facillitate that change. =20
That said, if term limits are eliminated, I feel VERY STRONGLY that the =
current term limitations should apply to anyone elected when they were in =
place. The board should not approve the elimination of term limits to =
benefit themselves in any way.
