I totally agree Kathy. Do not allow them to limp for any period of time. But also consider the enviornment! If a young pup ( with pano or without pano ) is left in a kennel where he goes up and down along the fence with another dog or pup......watch to make sure he does not turn in the same direction all the time. A young pup with growth plates that are not closed swiveling on the same left foot ( or right foot ) to turn in the same direction day in and day out will cause the foot to twist out and the growth plate to grow that way! Get them out of that particular pen and situation........and as Kathy says do something about that pano! We had a male years ago that when we put him in a big paddock area he would fence run up and down the fence on the one side and when he came up to the corner he would jump up and hit the big corner tree with the same foot to turn around, and if we left him in that same environment for three days, he would limp by the third day. Never changed which foot he hit the tree with though. They are "right handed' and "left handed" ya know.....ask any herding trainer. <G> Great dog....and taught me a valuable lesson.......they all do if we just "listen". And, no, sorry, I don't think it will correct. What would cause one foot to be more "out" than another is if the pano or "ouch" was on that side. (Which is why I never, and I mean NEVER let a dog limp through pano. You can REALLY mess up a good front.) I'm thinking nutrition-wise, or exercise-wise, or whatever.....? Pup is under a year old - as the pup matures and the chest drops will this correct itself? Any suggestions in the mean time? What would cause one foot to be noticeably more E/W than the other? Thanks in advance! **************Wondering what's for Dinner Tonight? Get new twists on family favorites at AOL Food.
