[ SHOWGSD-L ] Earthquakes and "Irene"

I didn't even know what it was till I checked the computer, but
Forest, Elvis and Cole did: I was taking my afternoon siesta,
watching AMC (All My Children) and Forest came up to my chair and
grabbed my foot--she has NEVER done this before. Elvis jumped up on
my lap, got off and wagged his tail. Cole (who was crated) let out a
ghostly, low howl that sounded like he was haunting a castle.
OOOOOOOOOOWWWWW. AFTER THAT, I thought I was having (another) attack
of vertigo. My chair seemed to be trembling; 30 seconds later it
happened again. I got up, took the dogs outside and Diesel was
running around in the pasture. They all knew; they are SO much
smarter than we are! It was an earthquake.
Now we have to contend with Irene. Recently, I remember laughing at a
sign at a local business: GET YOUR HURRICANE DISASTER KITS READY.
(It's NOT funny now.) Please stay out at sea, Irene, and leave
Paulette and the rest of us alone.
