The only experience that I have had with an ear hematoma was with our 9 =
1/2
year old male GSD. We came home one night to discover that his ear had
swollen. We took him to a VET, not normally ours to be treated. After
surgery the ear never did try and stand back up. Two weeks later he was
laying in the living room and sat up suddenly. He then shook his head =

collapsed. We did not have an autopsy done, but I believe that he =
probably
threw a blood clot.=20
I doubt that the vet had any real idea on what to do with the ear. =
They
were too worried about whether or not I wanted him neutered while he was
under.=20
