Hi Everyone
I was contacted by someone who owns a puppy sired by my male, the dam belonged
to a friend of mine who this person purchased the puppy from.
Her 9 year old bitch tested positive for EPI. The dog had quit eating and
after an emergency trip and three days of vet care they got her eating again,
tests were run and she tested low in albumin. Then, she stopped eating again,
and this time, she was taken to the University of Illinois vet school and they
ran all sorts of tests, finally did the EPI test and she tested positive.
I have NO experience with EPI (thankfully) but would like to give this owner
some information that some of you might have. She is now on a Grain Free
Kibble along with Viokase. The University did say this was rare to be
diagnosed this late, at 9 years of age.
I appreciate any advice, private is fine, I will be forwarding this information
to her.
