I'm not clear on what the site offers that no other has??
Enlighten me? Food WAS great! Lighting WAS awesome!

Lets start with grass. <G> Lots of it driving into the site...so we
hear all the time about the "beautiful grounds"....and it's true. BUT...
It really doesn't matter to me that the outside grounds at Purina are
absolutely GORGEOUS. The dogs are shown indoors on a 'surface' that does
not appeal to me personally, nor does it help the sound! Also didn't care
for taking wet dogs from the bathing area through a big hall into Marble
floor hallways back into the arena area with taped off spots on plastic.
I realize of course this is a personal preference...for me. <G> I'm an
outdoor person and typically only show outside at Specialty shows.
To me...the absolute BEST thing about Purina was the awesome lighting!
I do wish some of the arenas were better in that Dept...but great lighting
was ruined much by TERRIBLE noise and sound system and a small arena area
on a hi tech surface.
Food available was wonderful...but not a real 'deal maker' for me.
Three days of hard driving three years in a row for that venue....naah!

Loved the site in Colorado
Would love Kentucky
Liked Utah a whole lot
Loved the site in Oregon.
Liked Florida OK...but difficult to get there from the West.
LOVED Atlanta, Ga. even though I live in Calif.
Was at another site in St. Louis once that was not bad.
Liked the outdoor National in Arizona....

What facility in the USA offers what the Purina site does?

http://www.purinafarms.com/visitors/buildings-and-facilities#/visitor-center

If breeders and owners want to promote what they are breeding more should
be going to All-Breed Shows not just showing in GSD Specialty Shows. Who
sees the dogs at the Specialty but only the owners, breeders, handlers.
Which
makes the ones that attend just the breeders, handlers, owners and possible
friends. The Nationals at the Purina Farm promotes GSDs just like a
All-Breed
show as people there stop in to check it out. When there are only 1 GSD or
none
showing and winning in classes at All Breed Shows or just a few showing in
GSD Specialty
classes winning points how does that show to the general public knowledge of
the GSD.
I guess if the breeders and owners just want to promote their GSDs to each
other
no reason for the General Public to be there. I do not believe this to be
the case though
as they want General Public to know of what they are breeding and showing.

I know most involved attend the Nationals but do they bring GSDs as I read I
see
most don't want to travel with their dogs. So again moving it around the
USA just
is for those who do not want to travel long distance with their dogs. If you
need airports
to allow larger crates seems to be the top reason people want it closer to
them. If the attendance
are down at Specialty shows as it is talked about all the time the Nationals
are not going to bring
dogs in all over the country but just the dogs near as it does now.

Horses are off topic of course but Horses travel all over the country in
trailers to show and
do not fly. If a person really wants to show their GSD they will do whatever
they need to getting
their dogs there as they did years ago.

Most good breeders are striving to
produce the best quality GSD possible...and the National
is partly to show the results of their efforts
and compete with other like-minded breeders and
exhibitors and Judges.   We want to see the 'cream of the crop' from all
over.

To quote

us have flown

OR driven two and three days to
attend Nationals all over this Country and to Canada.

IMO The "future"  of the Breed is in the hands of all
of us breeding NOW.   THAT is what the
future generation will be handed to work
with.....IF they come to work.
