I understand that the AKC will not do anything if only because of the
litigation issue (we would hope it was not because they did not care!) but if
the parent club made testing a part of going Select, that would be reasonable.
But what would you do if the BOB or BOS or BOW tested positive? Would you take
those awards away?
I am all for it - but then I knew a Golden breeder many years ago who wanted a
hair test of any dog she bred to. Her dogs retained true Golden color without
help as a result.

I agree with Kathy about drug and dye testing, however the logistics would be a
problem unless the testing was random. In addition to dealing with the
dishonestly, those of us who do have dogs with beautiful black and red pigment
are often accused of dyeing their dogs. I have lost count of the number of
times someone has walked up to my beautiful Callie at a show and asked,
"Is that bitch dyed?" I would welcome a dye test! Bring it on!
