Gee David, I just read that in your book :) which I've enjoyed immensely.
Now I'm starting your other book - The Death of a Culture. Just a plug that
both are available through this list's website's link to Amazon (which will
help rescues).
What's so coincidental, is that I read that two nights ago, passed it on to
my students at class last evening and now read it today. I think this fact
will definitely stay in my head :)

It is true....
According to my vet:
There are eleven (11) - count them - diseases that are transmittable from
dogs to people.
There are almost 100 that are transmittable from cats to humans.
There are, however, many thousands of diseases that are transmittable from
human to human.
In the interest of public safety we must pass a law against kissing,
sleeping with or otherwise interacting with - PEOPLE!
