If you Google Chinese Crested Rescue, the first page alone brings up 9 rescue
organizations. I am on 2 Xolo lists and several members have rescued Cresteds
and rescued Xolos. Petfinders has 283 Chinese Crested listed for California.
People abuse and abandon all breeds of dogs, regardless of the rarity of the
breed.
I did get a good, sardonic laugh once when I asked some Poodle people about a
local Poodle rescue. They informed me that Poodles don't need Rescues!! Good
thing my rescued mini, Missy, and rescued toy, Little Man Tate, didn't know
that they didn't "need a rescue!"

I might be wrong, but didn't the shelter dog ad have a purebred Chinese crested
swimming around the swimming pool? Not many of those in a shelter--or anywhere
else. What was their point?
