There are two dangers. People won't vote, then those who do not know who
they are voting for, will put in names they recognize.
Or, people will vote for names they don't know.
Take time to figure out who you should vote for, then only vote for them.
Or, do what Ed says, and vote out everyone who is now on the board. I
know I would hate to lose Gloria, or Helen on our board. I see we can vote
for John who almost won as President. I haven't seen the slate yet, but we
do need to vote with our brains, or in my case, what is left of them.
I won't suggest who to vote for, but don't use a formula like get rid of
everyone, or don't put in any new people. Think, ask and vote often.

Assuming that the board runs on a "majority rule" and at this point I'm
not assuming that to be true ( when you work in secret who the hell knows
what's going on) but for the sake of this argument let's say they do honor
majority rule! So Evan, it's not a FEW members that voted to change the
location of the National, it was MOST ( if not all) of the directors who
voted
this change! And the biggest outrage of all , they voted in SECRET! Under
my method of change getting rid of everybody , yes the dissenters of this
unpopular vote are removed too! But if we keep doing the same old thing,
guess what....we ( YOU) will get the same old results..... Guess I'm the only
one who sees this, frustrating being a maverick, but it's the only thing I
know! Ed Hill

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] Re: Voting, Secrets, and Rants!
I don't know what to say about the election.
Because of the secrecy we don't know who voted for what, who voted to
close the meetings, who decided not to allow call in attendance, or who voted
to move the National.
I would hate to blame everyone for what a few have done. But, we get the
blame for putting in those who have no respect for the membership.
We could follow Ed's advice, to run them all out on a rail. But, there
are some great people on our board, and some, (like Zoe to name someone who
is not running), who have worked hard to fight against those who have lost
direction as to what the members want are who we need on our board.
I intend to vote only for those who have shown me past dedication to the
membership. I am fortunate that many board members talk to me.
Please think carefully this year. The future of our club does depend on
what is done in the next few years.
You are in charge of determining the future of our breed. Who you elect
is going to save or destroy our club. Then we, the membership, have to
accept the credit or the blame.

It is Sept 1 .... You can now RANT!
I hope when people vote, they remember all the closed sessions that
certain Board members voted for; remember that we no linfer can call in to
hear
what our represented voted for or against and that the majority of current
Board members voted to go against the wishes of the membership and have
thrown out rotation of the National location for the next two years and
perhaps
beyond.
