I agree a 110% with all of the above!!! I have a very low tolerance level for
ANY
problems and just wouldn't mess with bitches or studs that have problems. It's
a GENERAL WASTE OF TIME.......IN GENERAL!!
However, we will always require the C.B., Vaginal Culture, and test for
mycoplasma
which seems to be separate from the "regular" culture with most labs ( money? )
rather than continually expose our studs and other bitches to a REAL problem!
Why go to the bother anyway......the bitch won't whelp a normal litter if she
has it??
We don't use random antibiotics on any of our dogs, ever, nor do we dip our
dogs
in clorox and hose them down with sterilizers.....<G>......but again, we have a
responsibility to the bitch owners as well as our own stud and we DO require
the tests. If we were just breeding our own dogs to our own dogs....we
probably wouldn't test. Only had that one bitch with myco plasma and she
contracted it from the stud along with a few others. At that point in time
before Baytril.......they had to sterilize her to cure her.......that convinced
me.
