I had the same thing told to me by Stockton Animal control many years ago. I
told them that was fine, serve me with papers and I would be following up with
a lawsuit starting with the animal control officer, the city, the police
department and anyone else concerned with "turning" me in for harrasment/ and
anything else my lawyer could think off. YOU CAN NOT LET THEM RUN OVER YOU! You
must fight back, starting with the Freedom of Information (ask Evan he told me
about this) act. Anja

THIS is what you get when you try to be "reasonable" with the other
side.....You can NEVER,EVER,EVER get "reasonable" when you have to deal with
  long time government employees....

Remember the next time you think about "compromise" just who will be
enforcing these so called "reasonable" laws.

People don't believe me (especially several on this list) when I talk about
how a supposedly "reasonable" law could be enforced.....well.. read it and
remember.. this is a VERY minor example.... I can fill boxes and boxes and
boxes of the horror stories of the way that government lackies enforce
  supposedly "reasonable" laws....it ain't pretty.

Well I just had an interesting chat with Sacramento, Calif Animal Control.

My neighbor two doors down is having a new roof put on her house. It will
take about 7 days to complete. For the last 3 days, when she leaves for
work, she has been bringing her two yellow labs over, so the guys can go in
and out her gate. She takes them home, when she gets home from work.

We have a lady in the neighborhood, who complains about everyone for
everything. I guess she saw ..... bringing the dogs over this morning and
called Animal Control to tell them I had two extra dogs on the property. I
told the officer why the dogs were there, he could obviously see that her
roof was full of workers. He informed me, that at no time, for no reason
were extra dogs allowed on my property. Regardless of how long they stay.
Even if anyone cames over for 3 hrs for a BBQ they would not be allowed to
bring their dogs over. He said he would issue a warning today, but could
give me a $300 fine for having them there. He suggested I take 2 of mine
to someone elses house while hers visit.

These are the reasonable people we are forced to deal with.
