Oh this wonderful man, i cannot believe he has passed away. I met Mr Whalen
(that's what i called him) when i was at the Nationals in 2002. My sons
male, Totana Piper Hills KC von Wymar had just had surgery to remove a bump on
his head from a tick bite and KC had staples in his head and we entered him in
the TC and HIC and i was so nervous wondering which judge i would get, i
heard that Mr Whalen was strict and if your dog passed the TC from him, its
because it deserved it. I knew KC would pass but would i? lol i didn't
know
what to do, how to do it, nothing and Mr Whalen was so nice and calm and
spoke so friendly to me. I asked him a following day if he would pose with
my
son so we can have a picture of this, and he was proud to do that, he talked
to Anthony a bit about dogs and what his goals were... it was soooo kewl!

harley cap which was hiding the staples :)

as for the Greater New Haven show, what a wonderful job Mr Whalen did, i
picked him up at the airport and he was going through treatment i believe and
didn't even show an ounce pain or udder a word about it.. he was a lot of fun
on the drive back.
John and others i am sorry for your loss of a truly warm man, this breed
loses a treasure.
