I've been following this thread long enough. And just came in from thanking
the dogs for the BIG alert that there was some stray dogs daring to encroach on
our property.
Jackie, the point that people are trying to make is that the dogs CAN if the
owners want to put them through the training. The owners don't care to do
that. CHOICES!!! Trying to start a European/American thread needs Evan's
permission anyway!
My dogs can herd (they've done it), do agility (I don't want to do it!!),
obedience (yep, been there, done that), probably any sport or work that any
other dog can do. Some have more drive than the others. I am happy that they
ALSO can be happy growing old with me, taking walks and being a companion.
Making lists of dogs who are out there working is beautiful... I love to see it
(Brava!!!) But we don't have to do it to prove anything, and so we don't.
I would like to see just as many lists of the performance dogs getting
conformation points. (notice...points, not finishing...just points:-)
