[ SHOWGSD-L ] Demands from the SV

The way the GSDCA folks felt about that and the SV telling us we had to
justify our GSDs and threatening to kick us out is EXACTLY how the white GSD
folks feel now.
That made me laugh. I was on the board. Dan Smith brought out a letter and
read where the SV said we had to use their standard or we could no longer
call the German shepherds. Dan said, we might have to change our standard.
There was such an outcry, Dan actually moved his chair back. Everyone
started to talk and I thought if there had been a rope in the room, someone
would have made a noose.
I started to laugh and suggested we call them Schufferhunds.
It was one of the funnier moments at the meetings and the spontaneous
outburst was amazing.
I guess Americans react differently to demands from power, maybe in Germany
they are more receptive to that. We tend to speak out.
Our board does work for us, and like juries, I have faith in theem
