condolences, and interest.? I feel any time we can learn something new, we
should go for it.
Second, I just received an email from my reproduction vet.? The puppy has Spina
Bifida -?? failure of the neural tube to close completely. Not common, but I
have seen it before.

I have been researching this topic on the Internet (gee, what did we do before
the Internet was born), and it appears Folic Acid plays a role in this defect.?
By supplementing with Folic Acid prior to breeding, and throughout the
pregnancy, you can reduce your chances of this defect by 70%.? I have never
used Folic Acid on my bitches but I guess I will from now on.?
Well, we learned something new, and made a positive from a negative...I am a
happy person now!
