As in any organization, the good intentions and goodwill of the members goes a long way to the effectiveness or (ineffectiveness) of the organization. Effective organizations are "safe environments" where participants can have good discussion(everyone does not have to agree) but then they point their noses in the same direction for the greater good. That's how 2+2=5(synergy) and not -ve 5. Along with right intentions and attitude, it must be accompanied by constant evaluation of our bylaws, procedures and processes to make sure they are up to date, meet the needs of the membership and are continually trying to improve the status of the breed. Doing the latter in an organization rife with turmoil and confusion and infighting is an almost impossible task. Maybe i am pointing out the obvious, if so, why can't we seem to operate in this manner. I believe most people who participate in this, tlove this breed and the "sport" and while i am encouraged that our we have some excellent representatives of the breed we are all struggling with the decline in participation.
