I think the premise is wrong. I know that even one of the administrators is
not a member of the parent club, and perhaps many of those on this List are
not as well, I have no way of knowing. But if we premise an idea on a false
basis, what value does it have?
I think it is fair to say that very very few GSDC members want the 2007
National to return to Oregon...and the very few who do want the 2007 to be in
Oregon, do so because it serves their own selfish self interest.
I, again, am not so sure of that. I had a great time in Oregon, and I do not
have the financial figures, (because I have not asked), and I do not know
what the reasons are to return or not to return. I was not part of the
discussion on the board, and so I cannot make a valid response to why we should
or
should not return, except of course for the issue of possibly meeting Bigfoot.
last year 600 members left the club...
I was amazed years ago to find out that every year we lose about 600
members, and gain about 600 members. I think this has been going on for a long
time.
It probably does include those who forget to pay the dues and pay them late.
But, I don't see any great exodus from the GSDCA.
I do wonder why anyone on this List, showing a great deal of support for
this breed by joining us on this forum, would not find a way to support German
shepherds by joining the Parent Club? This is the only Parent Club the German
shepherd has in America, and this would seem to me the very least anyone
would want to do for this breed.
I know there may be personal reasons not to join, but I would urge everyone
to take a minute and send in that check. You can throw away the Review if it
offends you, but for less than $10.00 a month, you are supporting the best
breed in the world.
Not that there is anything wrong with that.
