This economy is getting worse, and people are going to be making tough
decisions. Many will go where they think they get more bang for the buck
(advertizing) , more input (local vs National), Conformation vs Obedience,
Agility, Local shows vs National SHows. Breeding vs Rescue, DOG or NO DOG!!
We don't need more Committees, we need committees with more Autonomy. Give each
Committee a budget, and freedom to do as needed. (If they need more money find
a means to raise it)( begging, solicitaion and hard work are allowed.) If the
"13 Club" needs money for a computer program, determine cost, but just don't
say "We can not afford it"!! "Breeders Code" Committee decide on 2-3 different
CODES and put them on the National Ballot, majority Rules!! "Noone has to sign
A BREEDERS CODE" but damnit if you have one put some teeth in it. Be Proud, The
GSDCA should not stand for mediocity, You set the STANDARD for the BEST
Health, Temperament and Conformation. That is the only thing that separates the
GSDCA from the BYB!!
GSD Standard - same thing
2013 World, determine cost, put a few in charge, that KNOW what has to be done,
and HOW to raise money and leave them alone to get the job done. We have many
succesful business people, lawyers, doctors in this great CLUB, they did not
get there by sitting on their asses and waiting for a handout, they did it by
using their brains and hard work.
REVIEW - Who in the hell determined it takes 2 month deadline for advertising
to print this magazine. A Bi Monthly kills the REVIEW, and in this day of
electronic publication a 2 month deadline for ads is ridiculous.
White GSD - The SV DQ'd the Whites, the GSDCA DQ'd the Whites, WHY - health
genetics, none workable, can not see the damn thing in a flock of sheep, stand
out like a sore thumb in the jungle, too easy to see at night, not angulated
enough, THEY ARE ALBINO. ENOUGH with the excuses!! These are GSD, like it or
not!! these people are just as passionate about their White dogs as we are
about COLORED. Yes 1 group wants separation, GOOD LUCK ON THAT, (a GSD is a
GSD) but the overwhelming majority want to be included in the AKC with the
rest of us. and show their dogs. Folks that is money in the bank that is now
going to the UKC and other registries. We apparetly made a mistake several
years ago (based on incorrect information), admit the mistake and give them the
same RIGHTS they had for many years.
Folks its time to roll up the sleeves and go to WORK; we all enjoy "bitching"
but you have to have a solution. If yu don't approve of the BOARD or a BOARD
MEMBER, vote them out. but remember, those you VOTE IN, may not be any BETTER.

I have to agree Diane, there are a lot of people out there on fixed
incomes, limited incomes or no incomes at all, and our local club, with all
five
working members, has a fee of $25. I too would rather support my local
membership especially since the parent club seemingly has abandonded the local
clubs financially with the reallocation of the Purina funds slated for the
futurities. As I said in a previous post, the national club is nothing
without the local clubs and the membership support.
