I was the one that got to shave Dave's head at a dog show, when he lost the bet.
I used to write an article every issue for the quarterly. I never heard of
anyone reading them, so after four years, I quit.
Dave is a terrific person and a resource of reality in dogs. I understand why
he may have been ready to throw in the towel, but he will be missed.
I am just glad he lets me be his friend.

Evan always said showing dogs is all about people, the dogs are how we keep
score! Amen to that! What Dave does is he takes this dog thing and spends it
with logic, truth, humor, history, family and interpersonal relationships and
narrates a story with the magic of his personality and his gift of human
communication that leaves you wanting more of his insights and thoughts!....
There was a TV commercial 30 years ago that said.... " When E.F. Hutton
Speaks...... everybody listens!.... That fits Dave to a Tee! I just read in the
Review that Dave has written his last commentary!.... Talk about bringing me
down off my high! Wow... No more Dave at the back of the review? While I
understand Dave's reasons , I am still going to wish it wasn't so! Several
years ago Dave wrote an Article in the Review "Why are we here" it was
brilliant.... Dave if you have it can you send it to me, don't know what Review
it's in! It was classic Dave! I'm a lot wiser because I know Dave! Thanks Dave!
