[ SHOWGSD-L ] DO OUR REGIONAL CLUBS CARE?

Are our Regional Clubs behind what Last Hope Safe Haven is trying to
accomplish or do you want to bury your head in the sand that what Vicki
experienced yesterday getting an old "throwaway" GSD doesn't happen?
I heard Vicki sobbing when she left the pound....on the phone it was hard to
console her....talk about feeling helpless !!! But another GSD heart
continues to beat through her tears. Tomorrow two more GSDs are coming into
Safe Haven/SPARRO protection. We need foster homes.
I sent out a plea locally for fostering in Pittsburgh to GSD people and have
been told by two regional club members to "take them off my rescue list".
We all love the beautiful conformation/show/working dogs but that is not all
that we, as breeders and exhibitors, should concern ourselves with all the
time. Remember, one of the dogs or puppies we rescue just may be one you
have bred.
I would ask all Regional Clubs in the Parent Club Roster to let us know with
a quick email (either Dawn or myself) if you are supporting us in this
endeavor (and it doesn't have to always be about money). Thank you for
listening to us....but it is ALL ABOUT THE DOG !!
