I would think that if both COLORED DOGS carried a single WHITE GENE, then you
could have a WHITE PUPPY!!

I'm not a scientist (LOL!) or even very smart, but since
every white GSD on the planet possesses AND displays a
genetically carried recessive trait that no non-white GSD
displays, wouldn't it figure that the presence of 2 copies
of the masking gene itself (thus rendering a dog white)
lays the entire DNA argument to rest? In other words,
although a standard color GSD may be able to *carry* the
masking gene, only a white GSD can display it. Thus, isn't
it true that the presence *and* phenotypic expression of
the masking gene itself is representative of a major
genetic difference between standard colored and white
GSDs? Or am I just being goofy?? ;)
