How do we know those dogs were the ACTUAL dogs tested? Remember, a while ago
it was brought up that the "honor" system was being used for the actual
swabbing? No witness or vet involved verifying chips or tats? And, some
questioned how one would truly know if that dog was swabbed or not? Well,
perhaps, these are those cases?
The best thing to do is do the test, keep the records, and necropsy the dogs.

Yes, absolutely.
have been blessed by not experiencing it, and to my knowledge not
roducing it, but I have paid particularly close attention to pedigrees.
dmittedly "staying away" was due to dumb luck in the beginning...
nyone who knows me also knows I don't think the test is "there" yet and
'm not entirely convinced the DM that hits other breeds is identical to what
they are now calling GSDM.
efore you all get you knickers in a twist that doesn't mean I haven't sent
the test off as I have done DNA for other things (black & coat facor).
o far 3 boys tested, 3 boys n/n.
And all 3 carry the coat factor and two carry the black factor...it's
etting a 'lil dark around here <G>).
am not promising future puppy buyers their puppy will never come down w/
his dreaded disease though. I still think we are in the research stage
nd I am extremely troubled that "carriers", (per the OFA's test) that
echnically should not have developed DM were proven to have DM at necropsy.
