If your dog is carrier breed only to clears then test. At risk probably
shouldn't be bred.

Subject: [ SHOWGSD-L ] DM test by DDC
Since Bob George asked the question about DM stats for dogs tested by
DDC... I had 4 of my dogs tested about 2 months ago by DDC - results were 2
clear and 2 carriers. I asked them at the time if they had stats, and they
didn't give me the number tested but said there're seeing 55% clear, 38%
carriers and 7% at risk.
And to follow up on Penny's earlier question about what should we do about
carriers - my opinion is to learn as much as you can about your own dogs
and about those you might want to breed to, i.e., try to be knowledgable -
but as someone else said: some of the top dogs in the country are carriers
and we should not throw out the babies with the bathwater.
