[ SHOWGSD-L ] DM INFO: Please share.

When the DM test came out, I was interested to see what would be the results
after a year or so, when some dogs were autopsied. Now it does seem that the
test may give false positives, and not be dependable. The only way to know
this is with time.

I still believe it is a tool to use, but not to depend on for a certain result.

One of my vets dogs (he bred) was DM tested clear(not sure which lab).
Subsequently came down with dm. Confirmed by all measures necessary and
retested.

I believe he was working with the U of MN to gather the info/documentation for
submission to the genealogical folks.

We had heard of other such cases, but this one we know was performed correctly
and tested completely
