Right, but that is the OFA's data base, fairly new....not the overall
incidence for the breed.
And to complicate matters, all at risk dogs don't develop DM.
And to further complicate matters, the "incidence" for the breed is a
pretty fuzzy number since there are dogs "diagnosed' w/o testing, just maybe
what a vet thinks it could be....

But, looking at all the other breeds listed so far, we are the most dogs
tested! Only a few other breeds are even remotely close in animals tested,
the Rhodesians, Berners, Pems & Boxers (which have really bad stats, that
breed is at 45% at risk & 38% carriers and only 17% clear)
I totally agree that it is a tool, let's just hope more and more people
will start testing their dogs to get better #'s. This is not that old of a
test yet, so I believe the #'s will certainly rise.
