I agree with you completely! If it was an obvious illness in the animal
(s), they should be excused. However, it should not be the opinion of ONE
vet, someone who has not studied the individual characteristics of all these
breeds, to make such an important decision. Hopefully, it was a "panel" of
vets who made the decision based on their combined experience.

 I find that troubling, not for the reason implemented, I understand that
part, but for the reason of how one would know if that veterinarian
understands the breeds. If pulled for obvious health reason such as
difficulty breathing etc, maybe! But how many of us have had to deal with
Vet's that do not understand the GSD and mis-diagnose and scare pet buyers.Â
So for a vet to decide "structural" health issues disturbs me.
