Dave Rinke did a critique at ringside at a local show and showed that he's confident in his opinion and knowledge to put himself in that position. I wonder how many judges have that capability??? Bill Paul adds... Dave prefaced his critiques by saying it was his opinion based on the dogs performance on that day. I pretty much agreed with his statements but several sitting near by did not. Of course, some of the dogs he discussed were theirs and weren't in 1st. A critique is only as good as the objectivity it is taken with. I have said many times, most breeders already know the why's and must be able to appreciate a good dog. I never mind losing to a good one. As for newbies who are eager to learn...they must consider the source and then objectively apply the Judge's words to their own knowledge pool. JMO...as always...
